Socrates Community Guidelines

Preamble

We at Socrates Enterprise Limited (“Socrates”, “we” or “us”) gives our users the ability to express their thoughts creatively - we encourage freedom of speech with a focus on building a community of honesty, sharing information and their point of view. We would like to remind our users that all the discussion and content across the Socrates app (the “App”), our website, or any communications and community platforms operated by us (together, the “Platforms”) should be created in a respectful and polite manner. Therefore:

• Post meaningful discussion points

• Keep it polite

• Be respectful

We created these Community Guidelines (or the “Guidelines”) so you, as our user and member, can help us protect this amazing community. Only by diligently following these Guidelines can we continue to foster and grow our platform. By entering and participating on the Socrates Platforms, you agree to these Guidelines and our Terms of Use. We are committed to these Guidelines, and we hope that you are too.

Please be reminded that should you violate the terms of these Guidelines, we reserve all rights to take action to ensure that our Platforms and our members are protected, including deleted content, disabled accounts or other restrictions of varying severity, depending on the circumstances.

Account Integrity & Authentic Identity

These Guidelines aim to create a safe environment where people can trust and hold one another accountable. We have one motto:

Authenticity is the cornerstone of our community.

It helps create a community where people are accountable to each other, and to us, in meaningful ways. We want to allow for the range of diverse ways that identity is expressed across our global community, while also preventing impersonation and identity misrepresentation.

We would disable or freeze your account on our Platforms or even freeze your rewards and prizes if you:

• Create or use an account on or in our Platforms that is managed by or operated via script, bots and/or automatic tools, or any other inauthentic mediums.

• Coordinate as part of a network of accounts or other entities in order to violate or evade these Guidelines or our Terms of Use.

• Create or use an account that deliberately misrepresents their identity in order to mislead or deceive our company or others, or to evade enforcement or violate our other Community Standards.

• Creating a single account that represents or is used by more than one person, save from where the account is a certified and recognised official account on the App, representing an organisation, group or entity.

• Maintaining multiple accounts as a single user.

The Law

We take a hard-lined approach towards upholding the law at all times.

Our Platforms are not places for users to support or praise terrorism, organised crime or hate groups. Offering sexual services, buying or selling firearms, alcohol and tobacco products between private individuals, and buying or selling non-medical or pharmaceutical drugs are also not allowed. We also remove and will remove content that attempts to trade, co-ordinate the trade of, donate, gift or ask for non-medical drugs, as well as content that either admits to personal use (unless in the recovery context) or coordinates or promotes the use of non-medical drugs.

Socrates also prohibits the sale of live animals between private individuals, although brick-and-mortar shops may offer these sales. No one may coordinate poaching or selling of endangered species or their parts.

We have zero tolerance when it comes to sharing sexual content involving minors or threatening to post intimate images of others.

Where we believe that illegal activity, including but not limited to the aforementioned examples, is taking place, please rest assured that appropriate action will be taken so that our community remains protected at all times.

Bullying & harassment

Be respectful on out Platforms towards your fellow community members. We welcome open discussion and different viewpoints, but we have a zero-tolerance approach towards any form of bullying or harassment.

Every user is responsible for maintaining and contributing to an environment that is free from bullying. We will regularly monitor and, if deemed necessary, intervene when we see behaviour that a reasonable person would find hostile, offensive, humiliating, and intimidating being exhibited on our Platforms. This may include but is not limited to:

• Repeated verbal or written abuse, including derogatory remarks, insults, and epithets.

• Verbal, nonverbal, or physical conduct of a threatening, intimidating, or humiliating nature.

• Sabotaging or undermining an employee's work performance.

Hate speech

There is no place within the Socrates family for hate speech and any promotion of hate speech. Discussions about the topics and groups are welcomed, but any idealisation or promotion of their beliefs may see your content removed, account disabled or other restrictions that we may impose from time to time, depending on the perceived severity of the transgression.

Terrorism, hate groups & mass murder

We want to encourage free speech and the discussion of political activities, but we are unequivocally against members using the platform to promote any dangerous organisations, individuals related to terrorism, hate groups or mass murderers.

This includes but is not limited to organisation designated under the Terrorism Act 2000 and as published by the Home Office from time to time. Our guidelines further extend to content that glorifies, supports or represents events that Socrates designates as violating violent events, nor doe we allow (1) Glorification, Support or Representation of the perpetrator(s) of such attacks; (2) perpetrator-generated content relating to such attacks; or (3) third-party imagery depicting the moment of such attacks on visible victims.

Scamming & Spam content

Do not share content which may threaten the security, stability and usability of our services. We do not allow content designed to deceive, or that attempts to mislead users, to increase viewership.

Schemes to take users off Platforms in exchange for something will not be tolerated, nor will we tolerate any acts of suspected fraud or deception that is intended to attack our users, whether through the use of proxy accounts or through acts of cyberattack. Discussions on MLM are welcome but are not to be promoted.

Doxxing, platform security, personal information

Keep it simple when discussing public figures, and do not post personally identifiable information to keep users safe, such as home addresses, passport numbers, and similar PII.

Age related policies & child safety

You must be 18 to use our Platforms. If our safety team feels that you do not meet that age limit, you might be asked to provide proof of age through a trusted, verifiable platform at any point after the creation of your account.

Any content related to child abuse, minor pornography is prohibited.

Sexual content, nudity, and solicitation

Pornography or pornographic content will be removed and could lead to your account being banned. This includes photos, videos and some digitally-created content that show sexual intercourse, genitals and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks, but photos in the context of breastfeeding, birth giving and after-birth moments, health-related situations (for example, post-mastectomy, breast cancer awareness or gender confirmation surgery) or an act of protest are allowed. Nudity in photos of paintings and sculptures is also accepted too.

Users should not use our platform to share or ask for pornographic materials, or post content to solicit sex or prostitution services.

Graphic violence

We understand that many people use our Platforms to share important and newsworthy events. Some of these issues can involve graphic images. Because so many different people and age groups are present within the Socrates community, we may remove videos of intense, graphic violence to make sure that our Platforms stay appropriate for everyone.

We understand that people often share this kind of content to condemn, raise awareness or educate. However, to ensure that the Socrates community remain protected from situations and content that may cause discomfort, users should not share bloody or violent imagery which may reasonably affect others. Condemnation of such activities is welcomed in discussion, but please do not post images or links to the content.

Sharing graphic images for sadistic pleasure or to glorify violence is never allowed.

Suicide & self-harm

We allow people to make use of this platform to discuss and raise awareness or share experiences about this topic, but we do not allow people to intentionally or unintentionally celebrate or promote suicide or self-harm.

Encouraging or urging people to embrace self-injury is counter to this environment of support, and we'll remove it or disable accounts if it's reported to us. We may also remove content identifying victims or survivors of self-injury if the content targets them for attack or humour.

Violence & incitement

We do understand people commonly express disdain or disagreement by threatening or calling for violence in non-serious ways. However, any language that incites or facilitates serious violence which may lead to death or serious injury are not allowed. Discussion, criticism or debate around violence are welcomed.

It's never acceptable to encourage violence or attack anyone based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disabilities or diseases.

Serious threats of harm to public and personal safety aren't allowed. This includes specific threats of physical harm as well as threats of theft, vandalism and other financial harm. We carefully review reports of threats and consider many things when determining whether a threat is credible.

Human exploitation

We do allow content which condemns or raises awareness about human trafficking or smuggling issues, or that asks for or shares information about personal safety and border crossing, seeking asylum or how to leave a country. But we prohibit users recruiting people for, facilitating or exploiting people through any forms of human trafficking (e.g. sales of children, illegal adoption, orphanage voluntourism, forced marriages, non-regenerative organ trafficking etc.)

Final Words

We implore you to help keep our community a safe environment for differing perspectives and individual insight. Each of you individually are equally important to us.

If you, as users, see something that you think may violate our Guidelines, please help your fellow community members by using our built-in reporting option. We have a team monitoring these reports at all times and will work as fast as possible to ensure that content and users that are not aligned with our Guidelines be removed.

In serious instances, we may work with law enforcement or seek professional assistance from the appropriate governing bodies, especially in cases such as but not limited to threats of physical or public safety, self-harm or suicide.
